Dustin Saucier

Area Director, MS Gulf Coast

I have been on full-time staff with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) since January 2017, focusing on impacting the lives of coaches, athletes, and our communities throughout the MS Gulf Coast. Our area includes Harrison, Jackson, Hancock, and Stone Counties, in addition to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC).

I was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, only leaving during four years of active duty in the U.S. Army. After being radically transformed by Jesus in 2014, I gained a burning desire to impact our area for Jesus Christ by living out and spreading the Gospel. However, my most significant ministry and leadership role, first, is that of my family.

I am a husband to Melissa and father to three children—Brodie (17), Mackenzie (10), and Marcie (2). Melissa works in education and is deeply passionate about training and equipping the educators that work tirelessly to prepare our kids for the future. Brodie is an avid athlete, playing multiple sports, from a very young age. Mackenzie is the artist in our family who enjoys creating on many levels. Marcie, our youngest, thoroughly enjoys books, playing, and learning.

Some of my career and educational background consists of serving in the U.S Army with two tours in Iraq, graduating from MGCCC, and working toward a Bachelor of Business with a focus on Management at the University of Southern Mississippi. In my leisure time I enjoy serving in my church, teaching and discipling at Harrison County Jail, reading, being outdoors, playing guitar, and cooking.

My journey into FCA started in June 2016 when a friend approached me with a job description of what I do now. I had never heard of FCA and certainly did not expect God's calling to be a missionary. However, I started taking steps through multiple interviews, vetting processes, and events that God Himself could only orchestrate. This simple decision to pursue God's calling on my life has led me to one of the greatest organizations I have ever been a part of. It is an honor and a blessing to serve as Area Director of MS Gulf Coast FCA.

I am amazed at how God has been working and moving here across our wonderful area and in some of our schools. Even more amazing, however, are the vast fields of opportunities before us with four counties, 35+ schools, and a college campus, which means the fields are ripe for harvest. As Area Director, my goal is not to just build a bigger organization. My prayer and hope are that we build the future generations of Jesus Christ—His Church—by bringing the Gospel to areas it is not and strengthening areas where it is. In pursuing our vision to reach all our MS Gulf Coast school campuses and communities with the life-giving message of Jesus, and see it actively lived out, we will see transformations in our lifetime. Furthermore, we will surely impact future generations—even those that have yet to be born.
